HA (hypoallergenic) formulas are made with partially hydrolyzed milk protein. That means the protein has been broken down into smaller pieces. Formuland Canada carries HA formulas from HiPP and Aptamil in powder and ready-to-feed options, for babies from birth and from 6 months.

Frequently asked questions
What does HA mean on baby formula?
HA stands for “hypoallergenic.” These formulas use milk protein that has been partially broken down, so it’s different from the whole protein in standard formula.
Is HA formula the same as formula for a milk allergy?
No. HA formulas are partially hydrolyzed and aren’t meant for babies with a diagnosed cow’s milk protein allergy. Those babies usually need an extensively hydrolyzed or amino acid-based formula recommended by a doctor.
Should I talk to my doctor before using HA formula?
Yes. Talk with your pediatrician before starting or switching to an HA formula, especially if allergies run in your family.
What’s the difference between HiPP German and HiPP Dutch HA?
Both are made by HiPP for different European markets. They come in different tin sizes (600g German, 800g Dutch), and the recipes can differ a little. Check each product page for full ingredients.
