Formuland Canada brings organic European baby food to Canadian families, with gentle first foods for babies starting solids and growing toddlers. Our baby food comes from trusted European brands that follow the EU’s strict organic standards.
What makes European organic baby food different?
Baby food sold as organic in the EU must meet EU organic regulations. That means the ingredients are grown without synthetic pesticides or GMOs, and the products carry the green EU organic leaf logo. On top of these rules, EU baby food has its own strict limits on contaminants, set specifically for food made for infants and young children.
Baby food by age and stage
- Around 6 months: smooth single-ingredient purées and iron-rich foods like baby cereal
- 7 to 9 months: thicker, mashed textures and mixed fruit, vegetable and grain recipes
- 10 to 12 months and up: chunkier meals, soft finger foods and toddler snacks
Every baby moves at their own pace. Follow your baby’s cues, and talk with your pediatrician about when to start solids and which textures to offer.
Frequently asked questions
When should my baby start eating baby food?
Health Canada recommends starting solid foods at around 6 months, beginning with iron-rich foods. Some babies show signs of readiness a little earlier or later. Your pediatrician can help you decide.
Is organic baby food better?
Organic baby food is made from ingredients grown without synthetic pesticides or GMOs. Many parents choose it for that reason. Both organic and non-organic baby foods sold in the EU must meet strict safety standards.
What should I feed first?
Many parents start with iron-rich foods such as baby cereal, then add single vegetables and fruits. Explore our European Baby Cereal & Porridge collection for organic oat and rice cereals from HiPP and Holle.
